sounds like a failure of the school to challenger her intellect that has led to a sarcophany of bad decisions in this young lady's life :(

Sorry .. must disagree strongly .... Don't blame the school .. blame the real culprit ... the mother.

Total lack of parental responsibility .. parents are NOT "friends" ..... they are "PARENTS"

and if this one had used the word "NO" occasionally things might well be different.

Indeed..

The article makes it seem like she's the only 14y/o at it - I'm starting to think that if a kid is over 12, they've probably got more sexual experience than I have!

Er.. that sounds wrong, but I think you know what I mean  ::)

Although I'm not a parent, I would certainly agree with that.

I am 49 and remember at least 2 girls leaving school at 14/15 due to pregnancy.

At the end of the day you can blame who you want, if they decide they want to do it then they will.  Times have changed but people havent.  It;s the same today as it was 10, 30 or 50 years ago and will be in the future.

Sex exducation needs bringing into line and taught earlier.

Same regards teaching on booze and fags.

Kids are more intelogent these days, but if not taught right from wrong from all directions then it wont sink in.   Plus a lot of mothers would rather have thier kids doing wrong under thier roofs rather than out on the streets and doing wrong that they dont know about.

The more sex education they have, the earlier they have it, the easier and more available contraception becomes etc. etc. the faster the teenage pregnacy rates and incidence of STD,s have risen.
That isnt some old fashioned, victorian, Daily Mail rant. It is undeniable fact, produced from official figures - but still the Liberal elite who make the decisions on these matters continue at an ever increasing pace in the same direction.
Time to stop, think and have an honest re-appraissal of the whole situation imo.

Oh yes - I'm not saying it's a new thing :) A friend of mine, a few years older than me, had her first daughter at 16..

For someone who possessed the intelligence to teach the mother is obviously deluded. This young girl will look a mess by her mid 20's, early 30's. I kind of understand the logic of allowing sex at home so you know where she is & who she's with but NOT if she was my daughter. >:(
Is'nt there some legal implication in allowing uder age sex in your home even if you are the parent? :o

Laying the law down on kids today will only make them do the opposite, but if they do misbehave at least take precautions.

I cant take sides, I was 19 before I woked it all out but my brother reckons he has been at it since the age of 12, he also had is stomach pumped after downing a bottle of whiskey at 12 that he nicked from the house and has smoked from the age of 12 as well.

My bro is now 42, has lost count of the conquests he has bedded and is out drinking Thurs, fri, sat and sun, he took heed and stopped smoking at 40, cant see him ever stopping the boozing and as for marriage he has the same attitude as me (allthough  . . . . . :-X)
