crap jap parts
« on: 12 May 2007, 09:12:54 »

i recently needed a part for my missus car so decided to go onto 'tinternet.  sourced a part with "easy jap parts", paid for it and was told it will be with me in 48 hrs.  72 hrs later and still nowt. contacted them and the item had not been labelled for sending. another 48 hrs the item was with the couriers, another 48 hrs it was on a couriers van but they couldnt contact him, another 48 hours and they got told to stick it up their arse.
now its the same senario with the refund.........
this morning i told them how crap they were, what a bunch of liars they are and if i dont receive a refund within 3 days i will cause their company so much sh~t i will end up owning it !!!!
the funny thing was a brand new part sourced from a dealer was only £15 more !!

anyone else experience poor service from companies like this?

Bought a laptop about 8 months ago and up to 2 weeks ago all was good.

Then while using it normally, the inside of the screen just "cracked" from bottom left to top centre right.

Now I am very careful how I handle laptops so I was rather suprised at this.

Quick call and courier arranged to collect 48 hrs later. All good.... I thought.

48 hrs later no courier but SWMBO gets a call from PC World saying "if the screen is broken it must be accidental damage". In other words we aren't collecting it and not having anything to do with it!

When I get home and hear this I am less than impressed.... >:(

Over the next few days I call 3 more times, speak to different levels of untrained monkey but get the same response. "The manufacturer says if the screen breaks it must be accidental damage so it is not covered".

Finally realised this is getting me nowhere so I have sent them a 14 day notice of intent by email and followed up in writing (recorded delivery of course).
It was long, very detailed, reasonably polite and made it very clear that I am not satisfied with the complete nonsense of an excuse they gave and I am completely happy to take this matter to court as I know I will win and I will ensure that it is a very public case. :)

Received a reply from customer serves saying they are unable to deal with my complaint and the matter has been escalated to the "Executive Directors" team and I will receive a response from them shortly to discuss the matter further...

Best hurry up boys, the clock is ticking!  ;)

Yes. But in the meantime the barstewards know you have to do without a laptop, and this is a weapon they use to their full advantage. >:(

I got my last two desk tops from PC World. Their prices are good ( for a pick-up shop). It's the after-sales that is cr*p

I know someone who used to work in another store chain not unrelated to these guys.

They were told by the management to put customer returns straight back on the shelf to be sold to the next mug who walked in.

This is illegal and they could get in trouble with Trading Standards if they get caught. Problem is that so far when companies were found-out in the past they always blamed it on a one-off 'mix-up' and denied it was company policy to resell returned goods as new so they got away with it - it will take an employee (or ex-employee) that is willing to give evidence the nail them properly.

I had a few cases of cracked screens on HP and Dell laptops and in all cases it was rejected outright by the manufacturers - they are adamant that they will not cover physically damaged screens.  :(

Even then, MJ, the company always says that it was a breach of company rules and that they've retrained/disciplined a few members of staff.

Difference here is the screen is not physically damaged. It has failed inside!  ;)
