I had the misfortune to see a bit of his "performance" - a ruination of arguably the greatest pop song ever written. BUT - I want him to win. He is imo being kept in by people who hate Cowell and what he has done to music in this country. If this moron won it would be a perfect demonstration of how ludicrous the whole set up really is, and would hopefully cause a degree of damage to the whole concept.
Maybe he is the only contestant who hasnt been to stage school or had voice coaching etc.
I know that the "poor painter & decorator" is nothing of the sort and went to a very expensive private school near here, where the head of the music department is a brilliant,passionate,dedicated teacher. We went to see their performances of Tubular Bells and The Wall, several years ago (when Matt was one of the little lads playing guitar) and they were in a league of their own,as far as school musical performances go.
I dont have any problem with that in itself, but why have some cock & bull story about a painter & decorator, who wants to make something of himself. He comes from a nice middle class family lives in a very nice house and his parents own their own successful logistics company - but that doesnt tug at the dumbed down potential voters heart strings I suppose.
