Is a Caribbean cruise any good?
« on: 18 November 2010, 00:12:38 »

Hello, my brother is getting married on a Caribbean cruise ship holiday in February, two weeks. I'm going.

Just wondering if anyone has been on anything similar and what they think? It's not my cup of tea. Don't really fancy it TBH.

What do you do on a ship for 2 weeks?

Well I have fancied going on a cruise for quite a while now - especially since I heard it's the 1st thing a lot of women tend to spend part of thier divirce settlement on.   ::)

Haha! Well I had hoped there might be some women with no inhibitions ladies on board, but I can't imagine single women of my age, 28, going on a cruise!

Hi,

Had my honeymoon as a two week cruise round the Caribbean in feb 2009. First thing to say is - it was fantastic! (I was 33 then so not that different to you - and it was my first cruise ever)

I could tell you of all the places we visited, what it was like on the ship etc etc but a big factor for relevancy is which ship/company you going with? They vary quite a lot!

Also, where are your destinations? And how many days at sea have you and how many ports?

Overall, mon, it's no problem.  8-)

be happy to divulge any more info you'd like  :y :y

Vectra Elite Estate doing good post-Omega service but still not as nice to sit in.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

I spent a week on a cruise ship in Hawaii a few years ago.

All I can say is a week wasn't long enough! I was apprehensive and I loved it :y

Best part was that if you were jetlagged things were still open such as the gym, food court or bar  ::)

I worked on cruise ships for 3 years and the Caribbean was one of my favourite places, I would still love to go out there again. I am sure all will enjoy it :y

Buy elasticated trousers or a belt as your waistline will double. I have never ever seen such conspisious consumption. There was always somewhere open where you could eat and the food was quite good!!

You will be thankfull you own an Omega and not a micro car when you get back.  ;D ;D

You can quite easily spend at least a week in the Engine Room hunting the Golden Rivet with the Chief Engineer if the 'normal' ships itinerary isn't excitement enough! ::) ;D :y
