MBNA are a bunch of chancers - once they scent blood they go mad.
I got into difficulties a few years ago. And they were far and away the worst.
I had to get abusive and threaten with Police to stop them calling me a few times a day while I was dealing with a IFA.
I would NEVER deal with them again.
Halifax were not too bad in comparison but still evil. RBS were pretty bad but not as bad as MBNA but RBS got me in trouble in the first place.
Stage 1 Shitifax sold off the cash machine I did my backing with and got hit with the odd late payment - managed to stop them.
Stage 2 Had some trouble coping so called RBS, they RBS agreed to fixed payments so I sent cheques in for next three months, they paid them in all at once

then billed me for late payments for the other two - I refused to pay and took it up, they clobbered my credit rating

. The clobbering got the vultures at MBNA excited and Shitifax dropped my credit limit BELOW my current balance.
My advice - take credit card and cut into little pieces, then call round to MBNA HQ and shove the pieces up a managers (inset favourite orifice).
Anyway RBS and MBNA are on my do not deal with list and I am slowly moving business from Halifax. Mortgage went very soon after this debacle.
