Snow event next week
« on: 24 November 2010, 23:35:59 »

As many of you know, I like to keep an eye on the weather and forecasting.

Looking at the forum on http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/twocommunity, there is a lot of chatter about a low pressure coming up the channel next week. Coupled with the low temperatures, some models are forecasting major snow especially in the South on 1st December.

This German-based output is looking at up to 51cm of snow around Dorset/Wiltshire. :o :o

Could come to nothing, of course, as its some way off, but if it does materialise...

Anyway, I'm off to buy a snow shovel tomorrow. :y

Still nothing here but it's blimmin' cold.  I'll believe the snow is on the way when it arrives and then the front door can freeze shut for all I care.

We`ve got about an inch of the polystyrene-beads type snow here at the present; the first of the BIG fall`s are expected tonight/tomorrow. :'(

Here's Michael Fish's take on the week ahead...

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=michaelfish;sess

I read elsewhere that a Met Office chap was forecasting a metre of snow over Dartmoor come Tuesday/Wednesday.  :o :o
