I wasn't condoning or promoting the 'British School of bad Motoring' it was merely the first national company to spring to mind whilst having a rant. People who buy an omega normally have some previous driving experience due to the insurance costs involved. The rant was more for the 3 or 4 posts asking questions like 'How do I drive in the snow'! If you don't know then sell your car and get a bus pass!! :y

Anyway I've finished ranting now so normal service can resume ;D ;D

 ::) ::) ::) ::)

No wonder I did not get it, I kept going back to the link but could not find where they were advertising snow lessons...... :-[ :-[ :-[

Sorry Mike, I didn't mean to confuse you :P It just annoyed me that some people feel the need to come on to a public car based forum and ask, basically, how to drive! ::) :D ;D

I never really have a problem. Mines got a proper gearbox manual gearbox, I have the mobile workshop in the boot along with a 25kg bag of rock salt and a shovel :y

I suspect many have only 'enjoyed' FWD, so valid to ask for tips...  :-/

True enough ;) It's a shame the search button isn't utilised in that case. As I've said there have been 3 or 4 over the last couple of days ;)

Again, in fairness, unless you are good with the search terms, the search facility on this site is piss poor  :-[  :-[  :-[

Google isn't though ;) ;)

But, TBH, there are so many different views from people. Lots say that the Omega is useless in the snow, I have always said it's fine as long as you take the proper precautions and drive to the conditions :y

I have just grabbed a set of snow chains off ebay before the prices get hiked... About £34 delivered :y :y

Apparently they still need removing when off the slippery stuff so just got chains for the rear. Not sure they'll suit my driving style though ::)

If, and I do mean if, we get enough snow to justify it I'll try them out ::) Got them more for the Christmas visiting, just in case, because my Dad lives on top of the South Downs
