So....how do you drive in the snow then  ::) ;D ;D

traction off   sports on  floor it :y ;D ;D

Beat me to it!!  You get many a worried look from the cars around you when you come sideways round the corner/roundabout......Can't beat the snow and ice!!!!

Have no idea what all these people are worried about, have managed to drive to the top of the col du tourmalet in france in the snow, with no chains or traction control in as some would say fwd shite box (a nova)!!!! Would have loved to do in the omega all that rwd fun!!!!

I've had a look at the socks and  :o @ the price!!!

Apparently they still need removing when off the slippery stuff so just got chains for the rear. Not sure they'll suit my driving style though ::)

If, and I do mean if, we get enough snow to justify it I'll try them out ::) Got them more for the Christmas visiting, just in case, because my Dad lives on top of the South Downs

ISTR about 15 miles at 30mph destroyed a set on an MR2 Roadster last winter - the Omega is considerably heavier so I wouldn't expect them to last long at all on tarmac..

I see them as a "get out of trouble" measure. If it's bad enough to do whole journeys on them, VPN'ing into work is the preferred option. ;D

That's what I'll be doing at the first sign of trouble ;D it's not my driving I worry about - it's all the other idiots on the road (like the Golf that was trying to drive into my boot on the way home  ::))

Just a get home measure for me too... If I need them to get to work I'm unlikely to go in either ::)

I do... Can't drive the crane remotely ::) ::) ;)

It's snowing here again now and the forecast doesn't look good. Not really that hard at the moment and it's laying on the wet cars... Looks like I'll be getting up early in the morning

It just beggars belief that people who obviously have several years driving experience need advice on how to drive in the snow. Yes it's a rear wheel drive car and autos pose a particular problem in the ice and snow. But if you can't drive it in the snow, DON'T GO OUT!
Don't go out!! Yeah lke my gaffer would wear that. Getting to work is the easy bit. Starting work is where the driving fun begins as some of you know!!!! 8-)

Saw a few flakes on the way back from the land of the rising pie this morning but it had all stopped by the time we had cleared customs back to the 21st century. ;D
