So how long does it take to buy a battery at Vx?
« on: 30 November 2010, 13:30:40 »

So .. go on, have a guess - how long did it take me, from walking in to walking out, to buy a 65Ah battery and the gaskets for a cam cover gasket replacement & breather clean?

Go on.. have a guess.

I like this answer best .. ;D

But 90 minutes is closer - just over an hour from walking in, waiting 20 minutes for a parts person to appear and serve me, and the rest of the time for him to put the order through, crash the system, swear, walk around for a bit, call tech support, put the order in again, and charge me an arm and a leg (I should have just gone to andyc, because I'm sure the gaskets & seals were cheaper from him!) because "Only the battery is on the TC".. but by that point I was so pissed off with waiting (and starving as I hadn't had lunch yet) that I gave in and paid  ::)

I was expecting it to be like Toyota - don't think I ever waited more than 15 minutes there  :-X

Oh god are they just as bad? ;D This wasn't in Bracknell - I went to 'NOW Vauxhall' in West Byfleet (by work) ..

The name is clearly a bit of a misnomer.. 'Some time later Vauxhall' would be better ;)

Oh, quite good then. :y

You didn't get the:

"Yes, it's an AutoBahnStormers card"
"Yes, it entitles me to trade club prices. Here, read this letter"
"Yes, you did accept it last time"
"Yes, you had to ask your boss last time"
"Yes, your boss said "yes" last time"
"Yes, your boss was on his lunch break last time as well"
"No, you haven't got their number on your system"
"No, you couldn't be @rsed to set it up last time either"
"No, you just bunged it on a random account last time"
"break it, I've forgotten what I wanted now." ::)

;D ;D I was expecting something like that, to be fair..

Actually he never asked to see the card and, now that I check, just bunged it on a random account  ;D ;D

Sadly the bulk of the cost was the cam cover gaskets themselves, which don't seem to get any discount on the TC :( Everything else did, but then the majority (besides the battery) were pennies to a few quid.
