Wii won't...
« on: 02 December 2010, 18:29:33 »

...work.

My kids' Wii has gone faulty. The main menu comes up on the screen OK, but it will not recognise either handset. I thought it may have been the infrared detector, but having bought one (thankfully, not that expensive!) it still doesn't work. :(

Any thoughts gratefully received. :y

Sorry, a bit dim when it comes to these things. How can I resync when the controllers are not showing as recognised and pressing buttons doesn't seem to work?  :-?

Under flap on front of Wii (where SD card goes in) is red/orange button - press
At same time, similar button under batt cover of each controller - press

Oi! Rub it in, why don't you?  ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Actually, it wasn't such a daft purchase after all, as the Wii spends so much time travelling between living room and bedroom that the stickiness had all but disappeared from the original detector, so it kept falling off the set. This way at least I can have a detector in each room and obviate the need for it to continually follow the Wii...  :y

Hmm.. I should really buy a copy of Mario Kart.

Probably be more fun than GT5 for me.. although I'll probably be just as bad at it ;D
