I hope not. It was fun for a while but it can make my job tricky to say the least! ::)

I remember the snow in 62-63 as an 8 year old - seem to remember it was around for months! Mind you, the schools were still open and life went on unlike the chaos we get today. Now you get a couple of inches and the whole country grinds to a halt. That's progress for you! ::)

Well that's what some are saying:

 :o :o
I very much doubt it, I've lost count of the number of times a snowfall has been due to hit us, then turned out to be a quick flurry, tabloids in particular love to exaggerate these things of course, can't think why  :P

In the early Fifties, I remember having loads of snow that stayed for days. Buses did not run, the main road was drifted over......but life carried on. We just walked to school or work, I never missed any time off. The Head lived at the school and most teachers nearby so as we always had to attend. The few cars that dared out usually seemed to get through. ;) It was the buses that suffered as being here in the Chilterns, you can't go anywhere without going up or down a flippin' hill ;D
Have to admit, modern life is so different, with the car being the most relied on :(
