happy new year all  just watched on tv the firework display at the london eye  brilliant as usual and was great in hd :y

They were spectacular, although I wouldn't have payed the £5k a seat to sit in the eye! I don't like heights ;D ;D

Very good indeed but as welung said 5k to sit a pod.... I dont think so.... what a waste of money but you will always get a few prats who will pay it though

and i tried last year(1st jan) to get a hotel room for tonight up on the south bank in premier inn and all booked up :y

the best place looked like the security guard or cop at the top of Big Ben - maybe my eyes were playing tricks, but i swear i saw someone standing there  :o

Well done Boris. Maybe there is a recession but the fireworks were fantastic. You can't take the money with you. If folk are prepared to pay let them. ;D

I could see them from my flat  :) - Although I had to mute the BBC's coverage, their choice in music was appalling

I was in Covent Garden until about 10pm then had an almighty fight to get out due to road closures.  Very pleasant policeman whom we met twice as we lapped the area "Sorry.  We're from Harrow so can't tell you how to get out".  That despite the problem being that they had closed the roads.

Watched the fireworks on tele in the warm.  Very good in my opinion even though there's a recession on. :y
