even with standard height sometimes I touch or hit speed bumpers (and I was careful !) and I also have problem with garage exits as the inclines are ridiculous , also in urgent cases I cant climb even low kerbs .. so definitely a no no from me..

I lowered my previous Omega by 40mm ('Chav spec')and changed to slightly upgraded but std length Monroe shocks and adjustable polybushes on the rear.
Handling for a 'big old barge' was excellent, bordering on 'track-day' stuff, yet the ride wasn't too harsh.
Ran it like this for about three years and found that tyre wear was perfectly flat on each corner.
Slight grounding over the larger/wider speed bumps.

Basically, done properly with a full geo it's a definate thumbs up for handling and looks, but you will occasionally have clearance issues.

Pervious 3.2 elite with mv6 suspension was fine at 15 mil lower obviosly, but add an irmscher front air dam and it would rub the floor dropping off the far side of speed bumps. Riding kerbs or parking with front wheels right up to kerbs was a definate no no. Or was that oh no!   :'(
