For Sale Advert - Newbie
« on: 05 January 2011, 22:28:15 »

Hey

Ok I have my omega for sale but due to not having a high enough post count, I cannot setup an advert.  I understand the rules, but to be honest I don't want to go about spamming the forum just to get my post count up so that I can put my car up for sale.

I'm not here just for the ride.......yes I have a small post count but i've not come on here just for the purpose of selling the car.

I've put it on a couple of online sites but no joy yet.

I just thought that maybe the sale of this car on this forum may well benefit someone out there?

Is there any way I can put this on here and give a forum member a chance of getting the car or must I crack on and get posting?

Thanks

Most people have Omegas here anyway, so it might not be the best pace to try to sell it.

I deleted your post in test.

As said, the guidelines stand.  I understand what you are trying to achieve, i.e. sell a good car to a good customer, but we (OOF) have had to impose the postcount limits for a reason, not just to piss people like yourself off.  Ultimately, OOF is a free site for you, as a seller, but you will circumvent the selling sand to the arabs analogy if you shell out a few quid and post it up in those places specially set up for it.

Bottom line - please do not post you add up again other wise it will a) get deleted and b) probably get you banned as well.  Its been a long week with folks trying it on, sadly...   :(

As Geoff said, it's actually not the best of places to sell an Omega anyway ;)

No problems, fully understand but thought I'd ask the question :y

Strange that its not a good place to sell.  I understand the theory behind it but it seems unlike any other car forum I have been on in that respect.  Its usually one of the first places i'd go if I was after a particular used car.  Forum member cars are usually cherished and hence a good buy.

Plus if its from a longer term member, you have the ability to check some of its potential history from posts made from the seller about the car.....thats my take on it and my reason behind wanting to put it on here.

Anyway, not to worry.

Thanks guys

Nice to see you taking a "gentlemanly" attitude, unlike some others earlier in the week.
My advice would be to join in the chat and banter and it wont take long to rack up 250 posts. Some people here can do that in a day - no names no pack drill - but honestly, it wont take long. Just talk incessant rubbish like I do. ;)

Yes, you are right, but they are all cheap skates on here, we know what the true value is, other places to advertise will get you a better price... :)
That said, enjoy the forum, get involved with the banter and you will soon have your post count up to 250.... :y

The same as what Albs said.

Plus I totally agree with what you say about selling cars etc, but the point is you haven't been on here that long so how can anyone check your cars history? I'm not speaking ill of you, I mean I've only been here a year, but I think the reason the minimum post count is in place is to stop dodge pots signing up and selling crap to people and ripping them off. I'm not saying you're doing that, your ad looked honest and your car looked good, just speaking generally. But rules have to apply to everyone.

Yeah, of course.

I wasnt referring to my sale with regards to being able to check its history etc......as said i've not been on here long.  I was just pointing out the fact that its the first place i'd look!

On another note......why have all the smilies still got santa hats on!!!
