Microphone Advice - PC Related.

What sort of spec Microphone should I be looking for to add to the sound card on a PC.

It will be for karaoki from computer based software. and will need to be plugged in to the rear of the PC.

No requiring anything elaborate or expensive.

Just something similar to this.

just dont want to het the wrong impedemce etc.

there are sensitive models that can record even 20-25 meters.. I bought one and add a mixer/amplifier to record bad speeches from neighbours ;D :D

and connect it to the dvr card with sound support..

that will be useful I think ;)

Pretty much any dynamic microphone will have plenty of output to drive a PC sound card. I would stay clear of condenser microphones unless they have an internal preamp (many take a battery to bias the microphone but, without an actual preamp, don't have enough output).

Maplins have a good range of inexpensive mics if you want to poke and prod before purchase. :y
