State workers' privacy
« on: 13 January 2011, 23:40:10 »

Millions of state workers will soon be asked sensitive questions about their sexuality and religious beliefs under new equality requirements.

And while up to 27,000 taxpayer-funded organisations, employing millions of people, will have to compile and publish diversity statistics under the Equality Duty, the information will not be assessed by watchdogs or the Government.

Instead, the individuals and voluntary bodies of David Cameron’s much-vaunted Big Society will be expected to scrutinise the data in order to root out discrimination.

So, fill in the form and let some bunch of amateurs know all about you.

Better still, write two words ending in "off".

What has gone so wrong with our society that there is no privacy anymore?

Surely the best way to have equality is simply not to ask and not to care about someones sexuality/religion/desire to wear adult diapers and be spanked by someone called Larry at the weekend, anyway?

Of course then you couldn't prove you were being diverse  ::)

I thoroughly agree Aaron! :y :y :y :y

Interestingly enough I went with a friend to our local council officers to fill in a form for a housing transfer request.  The form asked all those questions about sexual orientation and identity, along with the usual on race, religion, and place of origin.  When we challenged the council employee she said they had to ask those questions for reasons of equality!!

So it is out there all ready!! >:( >:(
