Everyone may think I'm mad, but I would still love the opportunity of travelling back in time and being a first class Edwardian lady passenger on the Titanic 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
.
I love that period for the fashions, and as for the ship how romantic!! A true icon of history, and knowing how I have been a survivor in my life, I just believe I would have made the lifeboats!

And before anyone suggests it, no travelling on her sister ship the Olympic would not be the same!

The imagined sight of your being dressed as an Edwardian Lady, Lizzie, is very compelling for me I must admit.

The styles, fabrics, shoes and accessories were gorgeous for those who could afford them and I think the best in history Zoo-Lou. It was a truly elegant time, and the absolute peak of British power when anything seemed possible. Powered flight, radio communication, advanced passenger ships, railways, the motor car, all was a visable sign of the success of Empire.
The often quoted phrase was "man considered himself the master of the universe", but how quickly the
Titanic disaster, coupled to the rise of the USA and Germany, then the horrors of the Great War, swept away Edwardian arrogance. Womens fashions were also never so elegant again!
