bp tyre machine
« on: 29 January 2011, 20:50:12 »

being as we are in the mood for complaining...

i just banged off an email to bp customer care.

why?

i have a tyre inflator in the garage but never remember untill i fuel up and see the air machine.

i hate paying 20p, but for the convenience what the hell.

so why am i moaning?

20p for 2 minutes! no free pressure check.

i a highly efficient manor i still only managed three tyres which we not exactly flat.

cost me another 20p for the front on 18psi.

glad i did as im off down the m6 tomorrow.

someone else might not have thou....

problem is maintenance costs, they are seriously abused so always had to have people out to fix them.

I think it should be against the law to charge for inflation of tyres. It is a vital safety issue.
I have a compressor and airline at work and use my own digital gauge to hopefully ensure accuracy.

Almost bought one on a number of occasions, could never justify it for tyres along. £100 would take long time to pay off at 20p a go!

Had a good lauagh at this a few months ago..... stopped in at Southwaite services, at the counter there was a notice selloptaped to the counter so customer could read it re the air line...... "cost of use of air line has been increased (to £1!) but this gives you 4 minutes, these cost have been raised due to inflation" The staff hadnt even noticed what the notice said.....

Well obviously so if taking that view, I didn't buy it for pressures alone. However it is far more convenient to have it at home running three cars. But if you want to take 3 cars to the nearest garage each time fire away. ESP when her polo tyres have corroded rims leaking air. It would take more trips to the garage for air than fuel given the infrequent short trips it gets. There by costing fuel and more time as well as 20p!   :P
