Was indeed one of the best (and funniest) TG's for a while, and it's always good to see the Aussie's taken down a peg or two!! ::) ;D
There was no mistaking the V8 rumble coming from the Transit after they had finished the race and Hammond returned to park up.

Umm transit had a v12 mate xj220 lump :y

Actually, didn't the XJ220 end up with a twin turbocharged 3.5 V6 based on the 6r4's?

I think the concept was to use a V12 but production cars got the V6, which looked a bit silly in the engine bay designed for a V12. ;D

Umm xj220 had a v6 twin turbo engine closely related to metro 6r4 lump ;)

Doh! Yep, just looked it up and it was indeed the 3.5 V6 twin turbo with quad cams. :y Anyway, my drift was that it was definitely not a standard Transit 4 pot! ;)

I think the original design was for a 6.2lt v12 and 4 wheel drive but by the time the bean counters had there say it ended up with said metro engine :P

Yep, the 6.2 V12 was only stuck in the prototype. :y
