GREAT FORUM - THANKS!
« on: 05 February 2011, 21:17:33 »

Just wanted to compliment your forum.  It is a brilliant site, well organised and very informative :) :) :).

I belong to a few Owners forums, namely Rover SD1.co.uk forum, MG-Rover.org forum and Rover800.info forum, but they're not a patch on this place ;D.

Pretty much everything I need to know about my newly acquired MV6 I have found on here (Powersounder, Xenon adjustment + tips, climate control console replacement, model specs), especially useful considering I haven't seen a Haynes manual (usually a must-have with every car I have had) for the facelift Omega.

Its a shame really, as if I'd been on this forum sooner, my series 1 Elite would still be with me  :'( (had no idea about PowersounderOfDeath - nor do people I've spoken to in car trade).

Top marks people!

Its a top place for all sorts of information not just cars a lot of knowlegable people on the site.

I know for a fact that OOF has saved me lots of pennies thanks to the info contained in the site and willingness of members to help each other out :y

Welcome aboard. I could'nt run an Omega without this forum & the friends i've made through it. I started with a 2.5 CD which a friend still runs & now run a lovely black 3.0 MV6 manual which i was lucky enough to buy from Hotel21 (admin).
Try to get to some meets this year...we know how to party in a field!!! :y 8-)

What also amazes me is the speed in which replies to questions come back at you.

Often I have a problem NOW, something I'm working on at that particular moment. Post a question and 9 times out of 10 answers and suggestions are back with you before you have the chance to pick up a spanner.

I've been driving for 31 years and I've undertaken more DIY since having an Omega these past 3 years than all the other years/cars I've ever owned...and MOST of the time really enjoyed myself...despite the missus tutting and telling me that I'm NOT a mechanic ??

My bro-in-law was looking at Jags and posted a 'which one's best' type question on a Jaguar forum and got one reply in three days.  :(
I posted the same question on the OOF and got three replies in five minutes.  :y

Your more of a mechanic than some of the mechanics I've met.

I often wonder why the omega attracts the type of owner it does, and hence the practically minded types on here...? Obviously the complete opposite of BMW types.
