I think the fault codes are all written on the boot lid aren't they?

Sorry.  Couldn't resist.

I suppose I should try and be helpful as well.  If it uses a generic (OBDII) diagnostic system and it's something you want to read I would recommend buying a cheap one.  I have a cable and free software here but it's so cheap the journey would be more expensive.  Then if the codes are manufacturer-specific you need to find a listing somewhere to interpret for MG.

bit embarrassing really  i left the lambda sensor unplugged whilst fitting a new heatshield

yes all sorted  didnt need a code reader in the end   spotted the lambda was unplugged whilst doing a oil change  plugged it back in and all is well and no eml on dash
