A Silly Thought For A Sunday, with Question??
« on: 20 February 2011, 17:51:57 »

In the midst of bad news on every front I want share this  thought for debate, just for fun:

On tv there is an advert to give up smoking, and a women meets herself from the future who assures her that she will give smoking up.......before going off to meet with Pablo!!

I have often considered the possibilities of time travel, thinking perhaps it has already happened!  Anyway think of this;

If time travel IS accepted at all as being possible, could you actually meet yourself in the past?  How could you share the same space in time and be in effect two separate people at that exact moment in time?  :-/ :-/ :-/ :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ;)

I know one or two folk (not on here) who love themselves that much it could be the perfect match. They could gel eachother's hair.
    Me? I'd never get on with my other self. I'd always know better! :D

The Grandfather Paradox?

 The Lizzie Zoom of 2011  builds a time machine. She then  travels 100 years back  in time to 1911 and shoots her grandfather dead before he meets her grandmother for the first time. Is it then possible for Lizzie return to 2011 and continue with her life?... :D :)

Yes, because my grandmother loved a bit of fun and "grandfather's" DNA had nothing to do with my mother ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)   So shooting dead the chap makes no difference, as fate had already allowed for these facts, and me coming back to shoot him as he was never my grandfather because I shot him first, and the man who married my gradmother was indeed my grandfather!! :D :D :D :D :D ;)  Gets interesting doesn't it?! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I believe that Steven Hawkins looked into this and came to the conclusion that noone could travel back in time to meet themselves, as a person could not occupy the same space and time as themselves in another time period.

Also you cannot go into your own future, as for 'you' it hasn't happened yet, so you cannot enter that period of time and space.

BUT!..... Einstein was wrong with a few theories, proven by Steven Hawkins himself, so who's to say Steven has got it right with 'his' theories.

But here's an interesting one for you.

If you were to go into the past and kill every person that is a basis for religion (Christ, Buddha, etc) what morale basis would the human race abide to from or would be worse or better off?.......

..... over to you lot now  ::)
