hi all  has anybody tried the esso supreme i filled mine up with it and bloody hell what a difference faster smoother and seems to last a lot longer than normal unleaded so try it yourself  :y :y

Out of interest, can you quantify your claims? I use my car mainly for travelling to work and back, where majority of the time the speed limit is 30's, and 50's, so "faster" don't come into it. Chucking fuel in at £128.9 per is bad enough  :'( :'( , so returns would have to be considerably better to justify £137+ per. :-? :-?  :y

Tenner a time is all I ever put it, it'll give me 50 odd miles in the Beemer and 85-100 miles in the van.

Usually whack £40 or £50 in at a time, generally running around 1/2 full most of the time.
Brimmed it to drive to York last weekend, and can confirm that from near-empty to full will cost you nearly £100.

I'll be checking out that Esso supreme at next fill up - cheers for the tip. ;)

i might have to put some petrol in mine, fuel light keeps popping on. I'll be generous and put £10 in, that should last me until the summer at least!   :D

Put £30 of Vpower in the V6 the other night just so it had some in, sticking to using the Diesel in the week due to the running costs.

currently off rd therefore petrol expenditure = £00000000 ;D ;D ;D :y

Before that I used to only put £10 only for the very reason  of also not tying up funds.  I suppose my mileage commitment is not the same as you guys.  Being in London and having tfl it helps extremely as I use that for daily commute to work. :) :)

To Lizzie:  Have you used the Shell equivalent?  if so is your experience the same?  Unfortnately, have not used the esso variant as a local station to me, which was purchased privately, charges the earth, even before current petrol hike, so god kows what is now :(

I have been banging on about this for weeks now! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Although it seems very few on here believed me, ESSO unleaded has made my V6 much quieter, and when I first fully filled up with this fuel a slight tapping noise I had using supermarket fuel disappeared within about 20 minutes and has not returned.

As Glenny Boy states the engine is noticeable smoother, has more power and the MPG has improved, only only slightly; by 1.5 mpg! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) ;) ;)

ESSO garages around here have the unleaded at the same price as everywhere, so it has made every sense to stay with it.  I intend to anyway as it is reallybetter!!!! 8-) 8-) 8-) :D :D :D :D :D :D ;)

I do agree Lizzie. Mine is so much better with it. Supermarket fuel not only made it tap, it also upset the knock sensors and put the emissions light on  :y

To cap it all, Tesco is 1p dearer  ;D

Where in Lincoln is Esso Tonk?

I don't do a lot of mileage in any of the cars/van that I have so I normally run each tank to empty then fill up.

When there's some international tension I run the tanks to 3/4 full then top up, ensure that there's 120 litres of standby gasoline and diesel to hand (in 20 litre jerry cans) and keep the heating oil tank topped up in case I need to run the standby generator from it.

I spent £106 :( at Tesco on Monday topping up the van (from 3/4 full) and 60litres of gasoline to make up the standby supply.

The way things are developing in the near/mid East I suppose I'll be following this procedure for the foreseeable future.

I always use the Shell equivalent. As most of my running is around town I only get abput 16mpg but it 'only' costs me £20. The Elite seems to do more to the gallon the warmer the weather is which seems starnge as in the summer months it was doing 18 - 19mpg. :-?
