no one is safe from ebay idiots!
« on: 28 February 2011, 19:07:17 »

thankfully not a big cost and i'll be able to get my money back

bought and (seemingly) paid for a renault laguna alloy wheel with tyre, very poor advert, won it at £10, paid by paypal, seller's preferred method, sent a message to ask about collection as its only in bolton, while waiting for reply i look at the item description and it says "You won this item, view order details, the seller has relisted this item or one like it"

 :o

i look on paypal, my payment is down as "unclaimed" because he doesn't even have a paypal account!!

he better have more than one wheel if he's listed this second one, and he better be saying he wants cash on collection for the one i've won! otherwise its a negative feedback for him!!

(i've bid on the second wheel aswell to annoy him)

That does sound very careless, I hope the seller realises they've made a bit of a cock-up and gets in touch.

yeh, second time this has happened to me now, different guy this time

if he doesn't get back to me, which i'm certain is gonna be the case, i can just click cancel on paypal and the money will be back in my account

i can then report him to ebay and leave him neg, which will stop his other listed alloy selling, so i'll win that and leave him another neg!!

its not difficult to accept payment and message a buyer with collection address though is it! he lives about 8 miles away and driving to his house with cash makes everything quicker and easier for everyone!

I use it all the time, never had a serious problem. The nearest to a problem was I bought an Omega from there about 6 months ago - oil cooler failed.
Went to collect and pay and it was obvious the photos must have been taken years earlier, the car was a mess. I told them it wasnt as described and walked away, they were quite understanding and cancelled the transaction. It was pretty local so not a great loss, although it did cost me about £15 to insure it for the day with dayinsure which I had to put down to experience.

i've never had a serious problem either, the wheel in this case was only a tenner and i've managed to cancel the payment

he now has negative feedback!
