An English expat I know (used to be an estate agent so got the gift of the gab), responded to an employment ad for a job in Thailand selling stocks and shares. Passed the local interview in Europe and was flown out and accommodated at their expense.

A few days into training in a very nice facility it suddenly dawned on him that it was a sophisticated scam. He asked outright Do these people actually ever get any shares or stock having sent the money? Course not came the reply. He then wanted out and felt quite vulnerable as the place was guarded by the local armed police who were in on what he judged was a very good money making racket . He counted himself lucky to have got away safely.

What I find funny with all these scams is the way the English language is used!

The example in this case is
