I so miss Aberdeen Rowies.  :'(
They're like a cross between a pastry and a scone ,flat and round with a salty flavour.
Story told by my Dad ,who came from Aberdeen ,was that they were originally made from the stale or previous days bread with fat and salt added and then gently baked. Delicious with cheese ,jam or best of all Herring and new Tatties....
In all my travels I've never ever found an equivelent anywhere , only Aberdeen.
For more than 15 years I used to go to Aberdeen almost weekly on business and used to bring literally dozens and dozens of them back to Lanarkshire to ex pat Aberdonians ,it got so bad I had to call the one shop I used to order as I cleared it out each time .
I don't think we've got any Aberdeen members have we... ?
