Newport is not too far from Gloucestershire (A48) or Worcestershire (M50)

Northern git? Scousers own every pub in North Wales :P

And if we didn't take our holidays there, you wouldn't even have a crime rate to speak of :D

Actually I am a northern git myself, born and bread in yorkshire, had to bring some northern class to sunny south wales, love it down here, wifes welsh had to say that

I am residing in yorkshire due to the fact that I have two ex-wives in Liverpool. We are still quite friendly but I dont want them "popping in for tea" ;)
