Renewed mine last year, used the Post Office check, and they sent it off.

Got the cancelled one back two days later, and the new one the following day.

Much as I'd like to complain about a government department, I can't in this case!

Thanks for all the info Guys, its more or less sorted. The Missis phoned up the help line and they gave her an appointment for tomorrow morning first thing. Strange they can't give you an appointment for the same day  . However it should all be settled, and she'll be away for a week.

Hmm, empty house, party next weekend anyone ?.
