New Midsomer Murders 2
« on: 30 March 2011, 20:09:37 »

Well the second episode has started with again another ludicrous scene.

It is 1975 and we see a mint condition Morris 1100 "A" reg., 1963 (amazing in itself in 1975!! :o :o :o) drive away from a big house with a young couple inside.  They manage to drive into a lake, and the mint condition car turns into what you expect of a 1963 car in 1975, damaged paintwork, with half a rear number plate and the radio missing from a wreck of a dash!! ::) ::) ::)

It is amazing what you are expected to believe in this new series; I await the rest of the episode on ITV now ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Sounds like the Doctor and his assistant are going to be the one's responsible for the deaths if you ask me  ::)

It could have been but the Morris 1100 was launched first in 1962, and as a child I certainly saw more Morris versions going around than the Austin one, which was introduced in 1963, so I opted for a Morris in the scene! ::) ::) ::)

But yes they were identical, and anyway I wouldn't put it past the producers to use one version for the "mint condition" scenes and the other version for the plunge into deep waters!!  Just like steam engines can change classes from one scene to another of the same train in many TV and film productions! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I just glimpsed at the start as the couple drove away and as he was fighting to control I thought it showed a Morris 1100 dash but when it crashed into the river it was an Austin dash which is totally different.

I have to say I'm not impressed with the new Barnaby , just not the same without JN.

It's probably down to the fact that the programs researchers are far younger than the cars, so not quite sure on if they have it right.

But lets face it, as views we love spotting things like this and it's bound to end up on that TV's biggest mistakes  ::)

By rights ALL those cars, Morris, Austin and British Leyland versions, should have departed this life by now! :D :D :D  All were rust buckets, as the rest of those companies "range" and only dedicated enthusiasts have kept some going (with a lot of filler??)  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Didn't they also have a air liquid filled rear suspension system, "hydrolastic", which caused all kinds of problems?? :-/ :-/

I see DCI Barnaby's wife has turned up.And not a bad bit of totty she is too.
Bit of a 'Stepford wife' with brains as she managed to get herself a job as Headteacher at the local big wig school, she got the house all unpacked and ship shape in no time at all and still had the energy to take her old man upstairs for a midday shag in her best frock.
