Didnt realise he was that young. Possibly stress induced illness ? It cant have been easy to build and run a company like that from scratch. At least he fulfilled his ambitions and made something of his life while he was here.

He was a bully, and as he got bigger his bullying increased.. :-X  Successful yes, but at what cost to independent haulage companies ::) Could easily be argued either way........ :) :)

yes i agree. it take a certain type to make it big, usually involves little concern for stepping on others.

I met him at the Corgi Toys "Greatest Little Motor Show" event at Donington Park way back in September 1975.

Yes "steady" Eddie started the company
but Edward made it what it is today
