I always pretend I am foreign and usually works. I remember saying to a double glazing woman at B&Q once that 'I thought she was a filthy scrubber' in Dutch. I regretted it, she was from Rotterdam. Oh boy, did she call me a few names. Most of which were physicaly impossible anyway.

I also tried this at birmingham airport when I found I had dropped the wife at the airport and then forgot my wallet when it came to leaving, so I drove to the barrier and yelled a lot in Zulu (yes I can speak it). They got a cleaner from somewhere who actually spoke Zulu to help me. I did get out free, but had to promise to marry this guys goat or something.

i dont know any foreign languages to a degree where i could try to convince anyone i was foreign, however my Borat impersonation can work wonders, the good old "broken english" is hilarious!

:DI do'nt speak any foreign languages but we have 4 polish drivers (who it's rumoured have polish tractor licences which the buy on the quiet over there & our government deem it suitable for them to drive artics over here) I nearly had to go to uni to get mine.
       Anyway i've picked up alittle of thier lingo. These are not spelt as the poles would but the pronounciation is close enough.
      
       Spedalee :- F*** off.

       Valesconia :- W****r.

       Goovna :- Sh*t.


       There's another one for f*****g rain but i ca'nt rember.

        Do'nt forget if you learn one useless piece of information a day you'll learn 365 a year! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

There has'nt been a building site I have been on for almost 2 years if not more, where there are no eastern europeans, and on some they are all Europeans, which is not good when as the client you walk on a site and try to ask a question and they can't f****n understand a word

What I do now is pre-arrange a meet on site with the contactors contract manager (all of whom speak english), not saying they can't all understand some understand bits, but that does'nt help me.

I have 2 Polish guys working for me, sent to me by head office, both can speak good English and they are goods lads, they have gone through it in their country, both hard working, just want to make something of their lives and give their families a better way of life.

I cant even speak wigan-ese! lived here all my life, learnt to speak properly from an early age to avoid sounding as unintelligent as many of them do!!

my parents are from southport, which i suppose is a slight positive!
