Agreed.

How many times nowadays do you hear some "modern" band or another & think - err - that's just a Beefheart rip-off.

Sorry to hear he's died, tho he's been away from music for 35 ish years. Maybe now we'll get "Decals" released on CD?

Vaugely remember CB - is he the one with the gravely voice which sounded like he gargled with 'hard-as-nails'.

Think he died from MS.

RIP CB  :'(

Sad news indeed.

I think it's only right to honour the great man by posting the following.

I don't think he would want to rest-in-peace, so "Have a Ball Cap'n!"

I remember seeing him and " His Magic band " at the old Glasgow Apollo in '72 (  maybe '73  it was all a bit hazy then  ;)).
'fraid I came away at a loss just didn't get him at all but I recall the band did rock !
Anyway , as said , he certainly was original. RIP.

I found out that "Decals" is now available as MP3 from Amazon and ITunes.

There may even be some candidates for Best Love Song?

Another great loss! He had himself so tied up at the beginning with contracts that he ended up unable to perform, but watch the record companies roll out all those rare recordings now he's passed on! Beefheart AND Zappa in heaven, now thre is heavenly music lol!
