Big Rod and Elephants
« on: 28 May 2007, 22:36:31 »

Happy to say Bobs old estate has made its way North driven by Big Rod.

Bit worried about the damp patch and misty windows.....on no actually its just that Big Rod is still crying over his sold MV6 due to crazy business rules....anyway...

Havent seen the car yet will get it tomorrow and then take Rod to get his new car. The old girl has developed a slight misfire a wee while after Rod got her so i know he was slightly nervous in coming all the way north..as was I.

We reckon the dispack is on its way out - Bob used the word mortified in an email to me. But Bob these things happen so dont worry about it....  I will send you the bill - for my skin graft getting the bloody dis out  ;D :y Seriously we all know the omega weaknesses and dispack / camcovers / rust on doors.....these things happen because its an Omega.

Just insured it tonight and can you believe this...Elephant.co.uk ( part of admiral with whom the MV6 is insured with)

£242 fully comp and 0 NCB !!!!!!!!

So car is here, well a few miles away with Rod, as is the towbar, and insurance is cheaper than i ever imagined - i was happy to go with admiral at £330 untill i decided to check elephant...

So seems like a good bit of business - thanks again to Bob Dent and especially Big Rod - you deserve an awful lot of beer and credit for your superhuman efforts over the past week from Bob and I !! :y

Bob thanks also to you - i know your sad to see her go and appreciate all your efforts over the week too.

So it will be towbar on....and first car striped over the last fortnight off to the scrapper - then i have a head gasket failure Rover 416 bought already to bring back in same day.....

Well bud'. I'm still juddering after the trip but, for bye the vibration(s), the vehicle in question actually performed admirably under the circumstances.

If you can excuse the lack of almost an entire engine, (700cc's and 50 BHP's, ( And then some!),), leather, tinted windows, body kit, cruise control, ridiculously large wheels and accept that there's the addition of an extra pedal and having to decide for myself what gear the barge's meant to be in then it wasn't such a bad trip at all.

Only kidding!! Bob's old motor did itself proud. I personally wasn't sure I'd make it, but a quick call to LB halfway up the M1 alayed my fears and now I'm here, at home and "three sheets to the wind!"

I'll see you tomorrow evening.

(Still not sure about this Frontera thing, but, a)Needs must, and b)What's the worst that can happen?)

Same displacement, same number of cams and valves but 20 less gee-gee's 30 less Leptons up top; a completely different mill to boot.

Still, I pick it up tonight.

At least I've something to look forward to!! :'(   :-/ ;D
