A little bimble over to Church Stretton
« on: 09 April 2011, 10:47:39 »

I wanted to get some miles under my arse belt on the bike, as I have a couple of big trips in next few months. So while weather was nice and following on from thread other day, on Thursday I decided to go over to Church Stretton / Long Mynd area to get some decent miles done in one day.

I wanted to try and cook some camping meal packs in my jetboil which I had not done yet, I tried soup mix in water before, worked fine, but messy!

After a late start I found myself a spot to park up and start cooking:

This was meal I chose:

Added water first to see what level would need to be with pouch in the jet boil....

I sparked it up, got it boiling, popped pouch in and left it for 8 mins.

It actually turned out very nice!

Needed a bit of bread to pad it out, but slow release energy worked well, I could live on them, which is what I would need to do on my trip(s)

Peace was soiled by one of them sport tractors, impressive driving through Narrow gap!

Also another chance to run the bullet camera, as this time it was fully charged, and I wanted to test charging it on the go. It performed really well, I recorded my whole run back with storage space and battery to spare.

Joking aside a banana is a good idea  :y

Not something I considered, and if i see them at a Petrol station as they are often built with supermarkets these days, tis a good idea   :y

This test was to see what those meals were like, could i live on them for dinner / snacks. These things have to be tested  :)

About as cheap as they get  :(

I did wonder about getting some canned food which is a hell of a lot cheaper and bag it up, but its mess & hassle.
