Meetings section
« on: 15 April 2011, 15:39:14 »

Is it worth the Admins considering having a "sticky" at the top of the meetings section that is a tad like a "calendar" and lists those "meets" that have been confirmed as going ahead ??

Such a sticky being "read only" to general members, and when a meet is confirmed a request is made to Admin to be added to the list ??

I've just had to trawl through loads of threads trying to find the actual dates of meets, in my case to try and avoid a clash, and it occured to me that a "calendar" would be useful .. nothing fancy .. just something along the lines of :

April 23 -  Essex

April 24 -  Falkirk Mill - Scotland

July 8,9 -  Lake District (OOF Birthday)

September 2,3  - Newent

Any opinions ??

If Admin are against this for any reason, please just delete the thread, I'll understand and say no more  :y :y :y :y

the trouble is.....no one reads sticky's and they take up valuable screen space.

a calendar is not a bad idea though, and could maybe displays members birthdays etc too.

May look at it with the next version software update.

I think that is a good idea to have a list of confirmed meets.

When I was over last time , I had a trawl through looking for one nearish where I was going to be. Might encourage a few more folk to "drop in".

That would appear to be a good idea, except the news causes page jumping issues when it scrolls on some browsers.  >:(

By calender I meen just that. A page that simply lists events and dates. A quick and easy to read reference table that doesn't run into multi page (often "off topic")posts.

I get you.....something along the lines of 2011 calendar sticky at the top of the meetings section, pm admin to get your event added....
