I grew up there Albs and doors opened or closed in life whether you were a " Tim " or a " Billy ".
I was back late last year for Friends Reunited reunion and it was still the same , perhaps even a bit more sinister....
I've lived all over UK and beyond and never seen anything like it .When my wife ( Londoner ) first experienced it she thought it was " Neanderthal " .
I couldn't have put it better myself

I grew up with it in Belfast in the sixties and seventies, and it was sickening. I personally knew two people who were shot dead just because they were "from the other side", and my mum came within inches of being killed by a snipers bullet, for commiting the crime of working for the "occupying crown forces". She had her first heart attck shortly after, and never enjoyed good health again until her premarure death at the age of 68.
I wouldnt get involved in the whole sectarian hatred crap when I was a yoof, and where I came from that marked me out as a freak at best, or a suspicious character at worst.
