initiation ceremony
« on: 28 May 2007, 16:40:05 »

As a new member of the forum is there a initiation ceremony we have to go through? I mean wearing a gimp mask while standing naked in a bucket of used engine oil would be ok, I would draw the line at being made to watch Jade Goody's fittness (joke)  DVD at the same time though >:(

Making bacon sannies at the first meet you attend :y ;D...then see how much Malt whisky you can drink, and whether you end up doing a JamesV6 or a Tunnie special ;D ;D ;D

The second part of the initiationa is staying a night at the Crown in Brackley ;D ;D ;D

I hate to be boring as this is a lighthearted thread, but I actually changes my crank sensor at the side of my road (no driveway) the other week and it was doddle. I parked the car with two wheels on the kerb, slid underneath - no need for a jack, unbolted the old one, cut the wires, connected the new one, slid out again and then went under the bonnet and connected the top end, without removing the scuttle (OK I'd removed it a couple of days before and moved the connector so I had easy access). Finally cable tied the new wiring. Can't say I noticed how long it took, but I reckon I could do the job again in inside 15 minutes.

Yeah, I could do it again in about 15 minutes.  Took me several days at the time, 1.5hr bus ride each way.  Wrong part and all.  The connector end is still wedged in the oil pipes somewhere.  No option to climb the curb.  Very busy road so was not amused.

That sounds like it was a pig. I was a bit tongue-in-cheek with my post - there's no way I would want to change one on the side of a busy road away from home. Well done for getting it done, even if it did take a while. Think I might have given up and sold the car!! ;)
