My 2.0 Carlton
« on: 25 April 2011, 20:43:58 »

Been out all day at my mates workplace where we are building our latest design.
Enter our idea of a 2.0 carlton that I reckon could take an Omega in a straight line if the pilot has the nads for it   :D

Build cost has been minimal thanks to the British Army (thanks for the workshop space & materials boys), and we had it running properly for the first time today (that's how we know how quick it is).
Still quite a few things to tidy up before it goes for it's SVA and all the other rubbish inflicted upon us these days, but we're confident it will be a pass in time for the summer.

A couple of pics to whet your appetite's (if this floats your boat to start with that is), and more to follow as we progress (if anyone is interested).

Steering angle looks steep, will that work on a trike? :-/

The acceleration is quite an eye opener.

The handlebars pivot on their centre, so nowhere near as steep as it looks.

It's not overly sensitive TBH, and it wouldn't matter if it was because a trike is hardly designed for fast cornering/maneuvering anyway.

...maybe that's why I don't get it, generally. Best of luck with it anyway, interesting.  :y

I do bike, trike, and car Albs. The best of all worlds, and the time needed to finish it is now at my disposal for the next year at the very least (energy levels permitting).

In a way that's neither one nor the other....  As a biker and a car driver. Trikes never appealed to me personally, as I'm sure can tell. And it's interesting which part of the post you choose to pick up on.  ;D

So, as said, an interesting project, non the less.  :y
