What? I hear you ask.

Senior Tories condemned plans to merge southern England and northern France into a territory called “Arc Manche” complete with its own flag.

Schemes include a £7.6million “cross-Channel” network of cycle paths, a £2million travelling exhibition of “contemporary” artworks and even a bizarre international tour by circus clowns costing £5.5million.

Tory Cabinet Minister Eric Pickles yesterday revealed details of the plan inherited by his Whitehall department from the previous Labour government.

Oh, and before anyone makes a point about cross-channel cycle paths causing mass drownings of our two-wheeled friends, I spotted it first.  ;) ;D ;D

seems fairly logical and benign if you read what they've been doing since 1996 (or yesterday as the the Daily Express calls it  ;D) but hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good story  ::)

We could have a great work creation scheme here, by sending all the scroats down to the seaside with buckets and tell them to start bailing out the channel.....

By doing this we would prove our solidarity with our European masters in Brussels, and they'd bound to fund the scheme to the tune of billions... :y

Simple really, and if we started bailing at high tide and finished at low tide it would prove to our masters that it was working..  :D

Excellent. The model could then be replicated elsewhere attracting more billions. :y
