What, to the site's leccy points?

Some are 6A, most now are 16A, so anything that exceeds that.  I think there is some rule about orange as well....

Depends on the length, but your starting point is 1.5mm²

Well, to the site and domestic hookups aswell. I'm not really sure which plugs are used either. I take it it's normal 3 pin to domestic mains, then round plug into van, and on site it's round plug to round plug, but not sure which one is male and female.

Thanks for info, and thanks terbert for the link! :y

Oh yeah that's what I'm after, just going through that link now terbert, you the man, thanks that's a big help.

You need something like this ..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/25m-Mains-hook-up-lead-cable-caravan-motorhome-camping-/260706660245?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item3cb353ef95#ht_1112wt_905 for on site.
Which end is which? Same as an extension lead at home, the one with the main pins you plug into the post ........ you wouldn't want to be wandering round with a live cable that you could touch live pins on. The end that has the cover on goes to the caravan.
To enable you to plug  the caravan in when at home you'll need .......... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CARAVAN-HOOK-UP-MAINS-ADAPTOR-Plug-Camping-Lead-Cable-/350455240684?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item5198c297ec#ht_1602wt_905  :y
And if you want to plug into a French site you'll want ...... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CARAVAN-240-VOLT-HOOK-UP-CABLE-ADAPTOR-EURO-PLUG-BN-/160579132604?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item2563431cbc#ht_2133wt_905  :y :y :y

Thanks Andy B, another big help, again  :y

Further to my tow bar wiring, I could just get a 13 pin socket, so that it's future proof, but use a 12n12s adaptor for my caravan (it's old). thanks

For your info Geoff,
Site connection to caravan are round connectors. If you are connecting at home to the caravan, you can get an adaptor which is a standard 13amp plug on one end and a round one on the other, so connect the caravan round to caravan, then the other round end to the adaptor :y
Sorry if this sounds a bit, 'soppy' ;D

Get the idea :y

AHA.....can't type as fast as Andy ;D ;D :y

I fitted a 13 pin to my car. I have a detachable towbar so wanted the electrics to swing out of the way & hide to, it was easier to just have one socket to hide. My caravan was dead easy to convert to a single 13 pin cable, because both the 12N & 12S cables entered the caravan into a 'fuse box'. It was dead easy to remove the 2 cables & wire in the new cable.

What do you mean 'swing out of the way'? I've got a factory fit detachable towbar on the mv6 with a fixed socket underneath. I thought when I fit electrics to the elite I could just fix a static mounting plate to the towbar, underneath and out of sight

Trouble with going 13 pin, for me at least, is that I tow other trailers too and really don't want to have to keep using adapters  ::)

Yeah I suppose that's a bummer, can you not just strap them up?

I thought that having a detachable bar with fixed  electrics somewhat defeated the object. Amigo MV6 MX5 had a Bosal factory (?) towbar & electrics on the back of his car and the electrics pivoted upwards of sight. After phoning & speaking to various local towbar fitters & being fobbed off, I phoned Bosal at Preston who said, yes we have a pivoting plate. I called there & he gave it to me foc  :y :y :y. It's not as fancy as that on the back of Guy's car, but it does the job. ;) ;)

I'll try to photo it for you tomorrow when it's light.  :y :y

I have one of these in my boot. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Towbar-13-Pin-7-Pin-12N-Conversion-Adapter-MP601-/290448168198?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43a00f5506 for my trailer board.
The 13 pin is far superior for powering the high load fridge.
