Looks like 28 of us want one. I presume thats not economically viable ?  :-/

No Albs mate not worth it. .  Any money that would have been made would have gone to Help run This Free Forum we all supposed to love so much and has saved everyone of us 100's of pounds each. . .
Reminds me of the Tax Disc Holders. .

Ah well
Sadly, thats true  :'(

At least in the case of the tax disc holders, they have no time limit - we sold every last one eventually.  With calendars, they need to sell instantly.

The small profit that is made from any sales goes into running OOF. It does not go in to anyone's pocket. It goes straight into OOF's business account (via Paypal if bought from the online shop).

We want to keep this place running, and we want to keep it free, and we do that by trying to offer club merchandise at a reasonable price, allowing us to make a small profit from each item.

Shame. :'(................I know a bloke who tried top get some technical info from a Ford forum last week. It was going to cost him £20 to get an answer from an "expert". ::)
Mrs TB's dad paid £12 (I think) on an Audi forum for an expert (daft fool should have called me first).

Symptoms were no power and high fuel consumption on a 1.9TDi Audi A4, circa 1996.

After a few days, the 'expert' came back saying blown turbo due to age (its done 270k)  >:(, Useless halfwits  >:(.

I just happened to be over there one day, and he asked how easy it was to change the turbo.  I'm not an Audi expert, but even I know those symptoms are due to the vac pipes for the boost sensor and the wastegate valve perishing. All Audi TDis suffer it beyond 100k, 10yrs.

So a quick visual look (didn't have any diags equip with me), sure enough, one of the vac pipes had perished at the end, not sealing. Snip, push back on, test ride, all as good as gold.  Told him to replace all those fabric covered pipes (same as the leak off pipes on our Omega TDs).

30s to find such an obvious fault.

Twelve rather quid for a poor, unrealistic, illogical, wrong, expensive diagnosis.

Its certainly a route I don't want to see OOF go down.

Showed interest in the last one, had every intention of buying one, but never did.  :-[

Internet shopping of any sort causes me pain tbh. Pay pal, credit cards, security, address, bla bla. Can't be arsed with it. Plus my own credit card has another added level of security that they seem to keep changing. In short I just don't bother.

Bit grumpy on my part  ;D. On the other side, supporting the forum is important. I see no reason why admin should have to bare all the cost, other than their choice of course  :-/

Maybe some interest and convenience at the meets perhaps. If your boots empty.  :)

I future, how about Admin informing members via e mail ( if its visable ) about things like this ?

At the end of the day, some members visit for info on a problem with there car. Others visit for a chat  :y

You might get a member who only visit once a year being perfectly happy to purchase goods with the logo on  :-

News letters cost XXXX amount of pounds ............. e mails cost nothing  :y

As long as these e mails are not being sent every week, maybe twice a year  :-/
 I can't see anybody objecting  :-/

I sertainly think you would get a better responce  :y :y

We only send out emails when we believe it is critical. And then only to certain membergroups.

From memory, I think we have done it once when some idiot forgot to renew the domain we had technical issues...

Maybe its time for a change in the forum rules  :-/
At the end of the day, if you only get a couple a year, I can't see anybody calling it spam  :-/

*If* we did, we would need opt-in/out lists, and somebody would need to either write some somewhere around that, or maintain the lists.

The first option is currently not viable until we make a decision on OOF's future, and the latter is unworkable.

I personally detest these sorts of emails from forums, almost as much as I detest them from companies I've previously dealt with.

A noble sentiment Jaimie, but as discussed before, the vast majority of members would only be too pleased to cough up an annual subscription in order to maintain this site.  :)

maybe - probably in fact. I am going to go absolutely mental at the first person who I can speak to at parcelfarce - they are a rather disgrace. The whole operation should be shut down with immediate effect. >:( >:(

Post strayed again!. Despite being a bit of a cock & upsetting people at times i've been around long enough to know this place takes alot of time & money to run, you admins must have very understanding wives. I hav'nt always been single & looking back would never have been "allowed" to put the time & money in. If a small annual subscription helped out i'd pay my dues. Guy. :y
