On a serious note he reminds me of me when I was early twenty's - convinced that I was a far better driver than I actually was and everyone else was a complete idiot and should be overtaken at any cost..... until I rolled my Senator after running out of talent on a country road while racing a Fiesta 1.3  ::)
I'm sure we all thought we were the "bees knees" when we were in our late teens, and I'm sure we all learnt the same hard lesson in the end  ;) (my lesson was stuffing a 5 year old 3 litre Granada Ghia in to a lampost).

Yep, mine was my good old 3.0e Capri.  Although it wasn't an accident involving another driver or strictly my fault, it still changed the way I drove from that day forward ..... I have a fear of pheasants now haha.  Having hit one which, as far as we can tell, snapped the tracking rod and I ended up upside down in a ditch.  It was corroded quite badly on inspection after the event  :'(  I loved that car.

I had a few V6 Capri's back in the day, including a Tickford which was quite scary (not because of it's performance, but because Capri's simply didn't handle all that well to start with).

Your not wrong there.  Mine had the wheel well etc cut out of the boot, so the rear diff was showing nicely, not as if Capris weren't light enough on the back end haha.

It was a 3.0ltr, bored out to 3.1, stage 3 heads, holley carb, piper cams and a few other bits and bobs.  Was putting out around 260bhp.  2x straight through exhausts with cherry bombs on the back end, so was a little on the loud side aswell.

had a '75 3.0S. Total hoot  ;D
You're right that they didn't handle that well, but at least they were predictable - you knew that beans + corners + less than perfect road conditions ALWAYS meant the tail stepping out, and after a while steering in to the slide to correct them became totally second-nature. They were very 'catchable', and it never bit me. I'd like another one, actually..... ;)
