IPhone, Blackberry or Samsung "thingy".
« on: 01 May 2011, 01:46:35 »

Looking for opinions please chaps.

My work phone contract is just about at mid term which means I can get another phone...Yippee !

Leaning towards the Iphone, due to it's resale value after a year, plus it seems to have tons to do and play on it BUT the teenager of the house tells me "they are crap" in comparison to the Blackberry, BUT now I read that Samsung have got some great "android" ones, what ever the heck they are ?

Now sure where to go on this right now so thought I'd seek some views of my fellow Mig owners.

I'd go with iphone or the samsung, assuming it's the galaxy s.

We used to have a couple of blackberry's, they often broke and are less feature packed.

Personally I love my HTC Desire which I've had for 10 months now and still matches the iphone 4, both great phones.

Depends what you want from your phone.

Samsung Galaxy S is a great phone, if anything on the same boat as the iphone, and most the apps on the samsung will be free as its on the android market? HTC desire HD is a whopping phone, big, fast and very responsive! ;) ;) ;)

as for the blackberry i hate it slow, BB software, girly too >:(

Iphone mate.

Have tried 2 different Blackberry models in the last 6 months and find them overcomplicated, un-userfriendly and fiddly.

iPhone 4 looks beautiful, is feature packed and a total pleasure to use.

iPhone 5 coming out in September though so bear that in mind !!!

Another vote for the Desire HD, a cracking phone and a lot better than the iPhone which is heavily restricted on what you can do with it.  The one thing to note with all of these phones is battery life, the extra features and usage means that you will be charging it every day.

Got myself a Galaxy S as a free upgrade the other day, it's great, and those in the know (not me) love 'em as well, so they can't be bad - a poor man's iphone by all accounts

Battery life on iPhone 4 is much improved over previous models, it's the firsts smartphone I have had that doesn't need charging every day, depending on use though obviously.  :y

I am a Nokia fan and like the look of the new E7, not fussed on the I phone, the HTC is not too bad, The Android phones are good as well.
out of all the phones I have heard more complaints about the I-phone than any of the others

HTC Desire gets a :y from me too !

Did ponder over the Desire HD, but decided it's just that little bit too big for my needs.

Its unlikely that the Gooseberry will be any good to anyone outside of corporate environments - corporates are what the Gooseberry is built for, and where it excels. But doesn't really work (properly) anywhere else, despite RIM trying to tweak it to do so.

iOS v Android is a personal choice - iOS appears to be more stable and better integrated, possibly due to the way crApple control everything.

For me personally, due to the Exchange integration (miles ahead of Android and even better than Windows :o) means I went down the gayPhone route.

I would never have another HTC - they lost their way, and seem to lack the skills to keep up with development.  They can make a device that looks good on paper, specwise, but the end result is always, in recent years, disappointing. And often fragile.

Most Gooseberry owners I know have them for work use, can't wait to get rid, and want an iPhone instead.
