It was an enjoyable weekend, but I'm bloody knackered.  Got home from the Bucks meet last night, pretty much straight to bed, and apparently I've been like a zombie all day.

This is first chance I've had to really look at OOF since Thursday. Needless to say, 50 unread PMs, god knows how many deleted off the bottom - so apologies to anyone who thinks I've ignored them  :-[

I still maintain its not possible to do in 2 days - this one had the loom mods already done (saving the time of connecting up 12 bypasses), fanimold predrilled, and 4 good people working on it saturday (which is when we broke the back of it - before filled with curry and beer).

Shame chrisgixers conversion had an issue, I was really gutted about that but its not my rather car.  I feel better it wasn't anything I'd done, but still gutting none the less.

Mrs TB would like to say thanks to Mrs chrisgixer over the weekend, and to the OOF girls yesterday, you all helped her keep her sanity when surrounded by several hairy ass'd blokes being, errrr, blokey ::)

Lastly, may I point out to Mrs Lazydocker, it is your duty to do the 'package', as the cripple doesn't make them as nice as you do...  ...says me, laying in bath, drinking tea, scoffing one ;D

Defo nobody's fault but mine TB. Pipe was twisted then pulled just inside the top hat/around the bend from chassis to air tight hose.

I didn't like the look of the outer surface of the kinked section so I've removed it, pending parts. As you say, too tired to complete it today anyway.

It can be done in 2 days with a little preparation... Don't forget, the tank was a new experience for us this time around ;)

Yes, I admit that there does need to be some prep work done and you do need to know what you're doing... But don't forget that we you also did a full service, cam belt and water pump change as well ;)

But... You do need people who know what they're doing and, in hindsight, a little less Beer and Curry on the first night wouldn't go amiss either ::) ::)

(Monday aside) we had good, dry, bright weather, which also helped.  I reckon working outside is faster than inside, as better illumination and more room. And we hit no snags at all.  And we lacked the pressure of running out of time.

... Until Gayboy kinked his pipe causing a fair bit of head scratching ::) ::)

But I do think it's better to have the spare day at the end... Must confess, I'm still knackered today and think I'll be in bed before too long :-[ ::)

The weather is key and I agree... Outside is far easier as it means that the car can easily be worked all around without falling over each other or having to have a cuddle every time you need to find a different weapon ::)

Although we had four people, there was not much for me to do to start with, so dived into the cam belt. I would never quote  2 days as such, but we know it's doable. Provided there's no issues, missing parts, or breakages. Oh yes, did I mention breakages.... :-X

Drilling manifold didn't take too long on TBE. And plugging the piggy back injectors isn't exactly an epic....iirc.?

Is that why it's started knocking like a knocking thing? ::) ::) ;D ;D

Should (hopefully) be getting it looked over and added to the register this week :y :y

The pre modified loom isn't essential, although it does make things a little quicker if done in advance. Having the manifold drilled and tapped in advance is the biggest time saver, although with 4 of us it wouldn't have mattered too much, but it can be done in 2 days with 3 people... I, like you, wouldn't quote 2 days to anyone as the expected timescale.

A big help was also that we've just done another 3.2 (actually, you've done 2!) within the last 6 weeks so everything was very fresh in our minds ;)

Indeed, 5 in total. Bloody things, although the 3.0 litre was a right pita. 3.2/2.6 far easier.

Also that new vap is right fiddle, it's twice the work. But worth it of course. See what Kev thinks later.

I meant the vac pipe re breakage, we'd have been in trouble if not for rather handy double vac spare, and I'd forgotten the slight knock.  :-/ has it gone? this is what I/we where worried about in doing goo many jobs in one go. Ie is the knock related to the cam belts? Water pump bolts? The install? Or was it there before as it's was intermitant. Can end up chasing our arse if it had been more pronounced. We've been there before as you know of course, some owners may not be so understanding as TB was. Yours Sounded ac or aux related to me but I'm no expert.  :-/ neither of us had a clue hat caused it....however slight, did we?

Ahh... That breakage ::) That was just TB being heavy handed :-X But it was very handy that he had a spare. Perhaps we should think about getting one from a breaker for the spares box, just in case :-/

As for the knock... Well, it's more of a gentle tap really and could be A/C related... It didn't work when I got the car due to a leaky valve and the history has comments over the last 2 years about the A/C not being as cold as it was :-/ Or could easily be due to the crappy state of the oil... I reckon another short change or 2 are on the cards and possibly even a flush and sump off jobbie :-/

Oh... And I think the long term trims drift out if it's driven particularly hard for extended periods as mine are a little wayward today :-X ::) I'll keep an eye on them :y

That said, I still didn't gave the mapping 100% as I forgot to leave the ISA 2 adaptation on after we finished the other night. Turned it on today and went for a "spirited" drive but gad to behave a little as the Mother in Law was looking for the brake pedal ;D Bear in mind that it will switch back to petrol, seemingly at random intervals, with this turned on but will collect a full petrol and LPG map to then be checked after 1000 miles or so ;)

Also, this new combination of kit items needs a little more tweaking "out of the box" to get it right but is worth it :y Speaking of tweaking... Don't forget your vap pressure will be well out after we were trying to get it running the other day... You want between 1.1 and 1.2 bar IIRC :y

It is possible to do it in 2 days - we've done MV6 (ignoring the associated issues it suffered) and your estate now, in 2 days.

Yet TBE was 3 days (admittedly the loom mods and the manifold drilling were done on the day)...

...so even without issues, 2 days is sometimes possible, but not feasible.
