side bar....

I too have only recently joined the forum. you can see however that my post count is plenty high enough now to post.
I have taken a keen interest in topics and conversations, and i like being able to come on here and learn a bit every day about the car i own, and the other people that own them lol.

I waited till i had 250 posts, and tbh it really didnt take that long. And i completely appreciate why it needs to happen, as it stops people who are not an ACTIVE member of the forum just signing up to make a couple of posts and try to sell stuff. At the end of the day, most of the people who post on here frequent this place almost everyday, myself included.
We're not just passing through everynow and then.

Dont get me wrong, I've done just that in other more broad spectrum forums.
But this is a very Specific forum, for a very specific car, and as such you'd only really come here with a vested interest.

imo anyways

It may appear that way at first but you should see some of the 'dangle berries' random stuff that gets bleated on about discussed at times  ;D ;D ;D

To the OP sorry abut the current situation your in and all the best with it :y

Im not saying you have been ripped off, and im not saying you havent....

but this is PRECISELY why we dont allow public trading with newbies with next to no post count  :-X

its posts like this that really piss me off, i have a low post count, but i have already bought items from peeps here a,for cash and i went to collect from elite pete, who wasn't at home but kindly left the item in his back garden for me, and b, RobG who i bought 2x items from, paymeny sent via paypal, and he posted very quickly after paymeny received, but i am restricted to NOT being able to post items i may have for sale, and if i do i have to post in the test area, to which i get no post count.

it actually puts me off advertising anything here due to this fact.  but i  wouldn't dream off 'ripping' anyone off by not sending an item, at the end of the day we are all trying to help each other out.

my rant over lol

TBH, the situation here between the OP and seller does highlight why the post count limit is set as it is. There are, unfortunately, some people less honest than yourself and others ;) ::) This site is predominantly about keeping Omegas on the road and general chit-chat, there are plenty of other sites you can use to sell things ;)

Unfortunately, when people do have issues with payments/goods when buying through here it does reflect on the forum and that is just unfair... The admins work very hard and give up a lot of money to keep this site free running for us all :y :y If you desperately want to sell stuff, there's always the paid auction sites ;) :y
This situation I'm in, in my eyes, does not reflect on the forum. This forum is brilliant and it was only my stupidity that got me into this mess.
The admin people behind the scenes that run this site are doing an amazing job and I hold my hat off to them. The rules are clear & fair........  End of :y

No i think you've misunderstood...
I'm not saying that many things aren't discussed here and that all the random stuff isnt there.

I'm saying that the forum is aim at Omegas........
therefore the only reason for being initially attracted and interested in the forum was for that car and the knowledge on it.

everything else has come second to that....including random banter and discussion.

this is not like say the modified car clubs, or the general VX clubs, because they are appealing to a much wider audience with the potential to sell almost anything to anyone.
you would really think of selling VW wheels on this forum....not unless you knew someone who specifically wanted them.

Checked my bank account and it shows his name as Alex J*****s. Looked on BT phonebook and found 2 listed in Liverpool. Will ring them and try my luck, may hit the jackpot!

Will update as and when I get a result  ;)

depends on when the Google camera car went round. We were in France when our street was photo'd, so no Omega on our drive.  ;) ;)
