Irrespective of the debate about the credentials of Lord Turrnbull I do think it wise to be aware of whatever is happening to the planetary weather systems and how it may change our ability to survive and prosper in the future.
The difficulty in this whole issue - for me at least - is how science, or in some cases pseudoscience, has been held as a talisman for governments and vested groups to push an agenda that will ultimately alter how each and every one of us lives our lives in the coming years.
Supposedly ‘settled’ science has been fallen upon to justify proposals for far reaching changes to individual civil liberties and immediate changes to the way we must pay for our energy.
It hasn't escaped my notice that the most vehement proponents of the idea of controlling energy use by financial penalty or rationing are the very people who will be least affected by these blunt instruments.
The environmental levy being built into energy bills at the moment should be a wakeup call to everyone - such measures have been adopted without open debate and are tantamount to an additional tax on us for simply having the temerity to breathe in an attempt to live out our lives howsoever we choose.
