IT Question(s) re IP addresses
« on: 10 June 2011, 20:24:18 »

Hi,

I'm playing with a new wireless access point (Netgear WG302), but before I connect it to my router network I want to look at/play with settings, can someone advise:

1) how I can see what my IP address is now (I know its a start/run) command but can't remember what.

2) how can I "Configure the computer with a static IP address of 192.168.0.210 and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask.set"

3) put put the pc back to normal afterwards

Am using a Win XP netbook.

I'm assuming that when its connected to the router network that the APs address would be dymanically set?

So hopefully I'm just doing this to look at/set the config etc.

Thanks in anticipation  - Rob

1) From command prompt type ipconfig
2) Depending on windows version you need to go to the NIC settings and manually enter the details
3) Go back to DHCP (automatic address assignment)
