This is my own personal view, not an official stance of OOF...
OOFer's must remember this is a global site, with regular members from all over Europe, parts of Africa and the Americas. We get an awful lot of traffic from all over Asia as well, though a lot of it isn't legit.
That means we need to look at the audience before posting jokes, picking on 'foreigners', or making out that Acme Religion is wrong/evil/irresponsible.
That, however, does not mean members cannot have a giggle - jeez, many come on here for some light relief from the pressures of their daily grind.
I see OOF as having 2 facets - the help side being professional, and 'corporate' in the way its run, and the chat side being idle chit-chat, and people enjoying themselves (within the boundries of the rules, and the UK laws (as we are UK hosted)). If people want to have a little joke amongst themselves, is there any harm? (Yes, I understand the search caching issues in this case, but thats between those having the joke)
