75% Increase

As above got insurance renewal through today gone up 75% i mean I know i've picked up three points  (my first ever points in 13 years) and insurance has gone up but [size=22]75%[/size] FFS >:( >:(

ouch .. but you might consider this ......

The son of a friend of ours ... aged 19 driving a 1.2 corsa valued at £1800. Insurance WAS £680 TPFT ... he's been done for 36 in a 30 so £60 fine and 3 points.......  Insurance renewal quote ........ £1495 !!!!!!! and that's still TPFT only !!

Very few "online" quotes available through comparison sites ... they all say "phone to discuss" ... :(

Had a similar problem with our eldest lad,no problem insuring it last year but this year (his second) was a bloody nightmare getting him any cover at all and thats with no points on his license >:(

One of the young lads at work only 17 got a decent budget for his first car 4-5 grand wants a newish fiesta or something similar and most companies are refusing him insurance or talking similar value to the car.

Albs ive done the meercat, confused and been down the moneysupermarket but sll want in excess of 1200 its taking the michael in my own opinion (3pts and three years NCB) ok i declare business use but come on up from 750 last year :o >:(

Call the brokers...  NFU are normally pretty good, as are LV...

There are a reasonable amount of comparison sites around and some actually come back with better deals than others from the same companies...

Don't mind excesses personally, I know there are situations when they are unfair, but generally they're a good reason to be careful!
Apart from windscreens gone through stone chips and a turnip! (don't ask) I've never made a claim in 18 years. I still put voluntary excess on to keep premium down.
If I could just have legal / liability cover, no cover on the vehicle that's the way I'd go.
