his refusal to support the strike action will effectively end his, admittedly short and dismal, tenure as "Labour" leader. No guts, no balls, no ideas....banana man - you're up  ;)

Off course he supports the strike action, he just isnt stupid enough to say it out loud. The majority of the  electorate dont support it , so nor will he publicly. The planning of these strikes will have begun when it became apparent that their puppets (Labour) were probably going to lose power. They want to bring down the govt. (like Scargill before them) and they are using their stupid members as pawns in their game
He must be very happythough that the Condems are grasping this nettle, as it means when the Brtish public next get conned into voting his shower of shite back into office, that unavoidable job will already have been done.
Hopefully Cameron will, at some point grow some balls and make it illegal for public servants of any description to strike, make it illegal for them to belong to unions which are affilated to a political party, make it illegal for taxpayers money to be given to unions - to pay for the six figure salaries of the leaders - and chuck said leaders in a cell every time they open their gobs to say something stupid.

I little strict but here are my thoughts.

Unions - should now NOT be affiliated to a political party also they should be self financing.

Scargill was a idiot

i havent spoken to many people who dont support the strikes - yes its inconvenient, yes it puts people out and in an ideal world they wouldnt be required, but at some point people have to stop being treated like dirt and lied to and make a stand - surely protection of your rights and pay is why unions exist - if you're not in one dont bitch and moan about those that are Albs - you've made your bed, i suggest you and anyone else who choses not to be in a union lies in it - we're in danger of making the act of withdrawing labour almost illegal - ridiculous, as soon as people like you Albs realise the tories never did and never will give a flying break about you, me or anyone outside the upper echelons of society and business the better ;)

...when's the review of MPs pensions coming up again - that'll be interesting, wonder if they'll vote to cut it and pay more towards it? ::)

Opinion polls forwhat they are worth, tell us that the majority of people are against the strike. I am a former TGWU shop steward and safety rep Banjax. I have spent many weeks on union courses at Essex uni, being taught all the mantras etc.
I used to send money to the striking miners in the 80,s.
I have led strikes and stood on picket lines. Ive been there, done it, read (most of) the book - Das Kapital - and bought the Tshirt.
Then I grew up, got a mind of my own and came to the conclusion that if you want something in this life you have to work for it and earn it. The country doesnt owe anyone a living. If your employer isnt making money than you dont have a god given right to an index linked annual pay increase. If my employer cant afford to give me annual pay increases and pension contributions, what right does the govt have to continually increase the amount of taxation it takes from me and my employer to fund the public sector. The public sector needs a reality check. We took the pain now its their turn.
I repeat - the public sector has grown by almost 1 million employees in less than 15 years. The private sector has shrunk. People are living longer. So if we are going to keep fulfilling present arrangements on public sector pensions - WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING TO COME FROM???????  ::)

so....all these CEOs and finance managers who decided their companies could no longer afford to contribute to decent pensions for their employees presumably are quite relaxed about the taxpayer making up the shortfall for all these millions of people come retirement, and presumably you're happy to pay for that then? where is the money coming from? turns out its a better question than you thought Albs ::)
